Sino United Publishing (Holdings) Limited (hereafter SUP) originates from several publishing houses with long and prestigious histories, namely Joint Publishing (Hong Kong) Company Limited, Chung Hwa Book Company (Hong Kong) Limited and The Commercial Press (Hong Kong) Limited, all of which had served Hong Kong for more than a century. SUP was formed in 1988 and has now become Hong Kong’s most established publishing conglomerate. Headquartered in Hong Kong, it sets up subsidiaries and branch offices in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Regions, U.S.A., Canada, U.K., France, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.

SUP insists on ‘nurturing people with culture and establishing society with books’. It works conscientiously in Hong Kong while facing the world; and focuses on originality while taking care of acquiring book publishing rights. It strives to fulfil the social responsibilities of ‘promoting Chinese culture, integrating world civilizations and building Hong Kong’ to exemplify ‘a global vision, world patterns, Chinese styles and Hong Kong characteristics’, and has now developed into a modern cultural media enterprise comprising of five businesses, namely ‘publishing, modern printing, new retailing, new media and new business, asset management and capital management’ and two industrial bases of Beijing Bauhinia Cultural Plaza and Nansha Logistics Centre located in Guangzhou.
